The information tech age
There are so many ways to retrieve information as I've learned this morning. With this in mind, how do I as an instructor appeal to all different types of student's tech capabilities. Many may be of an immigrant status and others will be not. Students who are not comfortable with this technology, the instructor will need to spend more time getting the non-traditional student up to speed. My thoughts also include the importance of understanding where students may be at in terms of understanding the tech that I may incorporate within the classroom setting.

You might consider creating a technology pre-test assessment to give you clues as to experience with technology. One instructor at AVTEC has students run through a tutorial before classes begin to make sure they are prepared. If they don't complete before class start she calls them on the phone. Its hard to get students to think about class before class starts but its something CRCD might want to think about.
Thanks Heidi. This is a great idea, especially with students that have varied capabilities with technology. I just hope all my students have internet within their villages.
